Trail Overview

Mount Walker Trail is a 4.0-mile out-and-back route that climbs to one of the most scenic viewpoints on the Olympic Peninsula. The single-lane gravel road winds up the mountainside through dense forest before reaching the Mount Walker overlook, which offers sweeping views of Hood Canal, the Cascade Range, and the surrounding Olympic Mountains on clear days. The road is well maintained but features numerous tight curves and several shelf-road sections. The road is open annually from April 1 through October 31 to highway-legal vehicles.
