Trail Overview

This route is the southern exit from Deer Camp to Chumstick Highway to return to Leavenworth. This is FS 300; leaving Deer Camp, head up the hill 1.4 miles to a great overlook camp spot on your right that will fit 3 to 4 rigs. At 2.4 miles, FS 300 runs into Upper Beaver; yield to the right to follow this road out to Chumstick Highway. The road is in good shape with hard-packed dirt. There are some avoidable ruts in the road that range from 4 to 12 inches deep. A few unavoidable ruts also run across the road, ranging from 6 to 8 inches deep.

Difficulty

The trail is a pretty typical Pacific Northwest Forest Service road. It is mainly dirt hard pack with occasional larger rocks. There are some washouts that can be avoided and a few that cut across the road that are 6 to 8 inches deep.

Trail has somewhat deteriorated with some rather deep and unavoidable runoff ruts zig zagging across the road, particularly on the lower portion. Not recommended for low clearance vehicles at all.
