Trail Overview

Larch Trail East connects the Rock Candy side of Capitol Forest with the intersection of Twin Peaks and Larch Trail West. Trail is flowy and weaves through forest and along an exposed ridge. Beautiful views of Capitol Forest in several places. Trail is easy enough for a beginner but can be ridden quickly and enjoyed by an experienced rider. There are a few small rock and root obstacles that will require new riders to approach cautiously but are navigable and the trail is otherwise mostly smooth. NOT PASSABLE for QUADS OVER 48". All trails at Capitol Forest are ONLY open for motorized use May 1-November 30. CLOSED ALL OTHER DATES OF THE YEAR. Trails are multi use and multi directional. Watch for other recreators coming from opposite direction.

Difficulty

Great trail for beginners. Mostly smooth with only a few small hills. Couple sections where rocks are scattered but if ridden cautiously, a new rider can get through. There is one larger rock garden around the middle of the trail. This obstacle looks more intimidating than it is and can be seen in the photos.
