Trail Overview
This dirt-based forest runs alongside Lake Creek. The trail climbs around 500 feet in elevation and ends at the Lake Creek Campground, which has a vault toilet. The trail is narrow and one lane wide with places to pass. There are potholes up to 6 inches deep, and minor ruts and wash. You will enjoy views of the creek with rushing water, rock faces, and the surrounding peaks. Any vehicle type could traverse this trail. Cell phone service was weak, but enough to send a message if need be. There are no amenities other than the vault toilet, and you are 45 minutes north of the town of Winthrop and approximately an hour southeast of the town of Mazama, where the nearest services and supplies are.
