Fritz Creek - FS 2000-400

This is an easy gravel forest road in the Colville National Forest. As you turn onto the trail from Highway 20, you will cross a bridge over Fritz Creek. The trail gradually climbs approximately 1200 feet in elevation. The trail has washboard and rock garden sections, so it is recommended to air down your tires before starting the trail. At the end of the trail, you will come to a closed gate where the trail used to go a little further, but it is washed out. Camping is allowed along the entire trail, and there are many pre-existing sites, and some have fire rings. You will have views of some nearby peaks, but the trail is through dense forest most of the way. There are no amenities or services, so travel prepared, and the cell phone service was weak at best. The closest services and supplies are found in Kettle Falls, Washington, approximately 15 minutes away.
