Cougar Spur - FS 9718-118

This easy single-lane gravel road begins at the main FS 9718 road and ends at an intersection about 2.5 miles in. The base map shows the road continuing further, but it is blocked off. Base maps also show a possible loop can be made via FS 605, but it is also blocked with a tank trap. FS 118 is in good shape and is wide enough to meet another vehicle safely for most of its length. There are indications of past and present mining operations along the road.
