Trail Overview
One lane trail over dirt, deep ruts, loose rock, and bumpy rock garden sections. You will traverse an area that has a 15 percent pitch at one place, and will have a water crossing of a small spring that is approximately 10 inches deep (more if it has recently rained). You drive past an old white cinder block building, and wind up and down the hills towards a group of AT&T towers. There are sections of this trail where people have taken a bypass and made this one lane into two lanes for stretches. There are deep ruts a foot or more in some places, and the trail gets extremely narrow with ruts in a couple of places. You will make a turn through a wall of stacked rocks, and this section has lots of loose rocks. Cell phone service was good in this area, and the view stretched on for miles. No amenities of any kind, so travel with all needed gear and supplies. Camping is available along this route, and you can stay in the same spot for up to 21 days, but a Discover Pass is required as this is State of Washington owned land. There are no campfires allowed April 15 through November 15, but propane fire pits are permitted year-round.
