Bear Pasture - FS 2212-200

This is a dirt-based forest road with some sections of gravel. The trail starts flat, then gradually climbs to nearly 1,000 feet in elevation. The trail is narrow with lots of two-track sections, and there is overgrown vegetation along the trail, and you can expect some downed trees. There are switchbacks with ledges, some mud holes, and a place on the trail with standing water covering one track. Out of the last switchbacks, there is a rock step approximately a foot tall, but any vehicle type should be able to travel this trail with little issue. The trail ends at the Bear Pasture hiking trail and a campground area big enough for a couple of vehicles and tents; however, there are warning signs stating it is Grizzly country and you should expect to encounter bears. Cell phone service was weak along the trail, and there were no amenities. Travel prepared with all needed supplies, as you are over an hour from the nearest services and supplies in Metaline Falls.
