Enchanted Creek

Saw about 12 vehicles on the trail. It was a good time. There are washed out area's that you need to pick a good line. A lift is nice to have because some of the ruts are deep. I wouldn't bring street tires here. There are rocks and soupy mud in certain areas. A Toyota truck got hung up in some ruts because lack of clearance. Other than that it was a great trail.

Trail started out fun, but near the gasline clearing it is extremely washed out. Ditches deep enough to swallow a stock vehicle and scrape the side. Was sketch through some of the washout due to rain overnight. Made it in my stock power wagon, but was sketchy through the 4ft deep ditches. Also, was a little overgrown in a few places so pinstripes could be possible.

It’s not a 3/10 or more like 6/10. The terrain is washed and other rigs with big tires left ridges. Making it hard for low clearance. I had my Silverado with 2inch level and 33s hit the frame a couple of times. Lots of puddles during rain fall.

This is no longer a “3”. Do NOT take stock vehicles on this trail. It is highly eroded and has multiple impassible spots that only a lifted vehicle with large, off road tires can navigate. Lots of large exposed rocks, very deep ruts, mud, sides of the trail are beginning to erode and crumble down the side of the mountain.

Trail was very muddy with some deep ruts. My truck did pretty well. It's an F-150 on 35" tires. Definitely a lot of articulation at certain parts of the trail. A lot of mud as it has just been raining a lot. I would rate the difficulty a 5 due to how bad the ruts were and the mud. There is 2 very steep hills that I had to drop into 4-Lo. All in all, it went very smooth and I would not recommend doing this trail without mud tires or at least an aggressive all terrain. There are about 4 or 5 good spots to camp along the way. One was big enough for both our trucks. I would definitely come back to his trail.

There was some washed out areas id say the trail is more like a 5/10 on the south side of the tunnel

Some nice mud holes but easily through, nothing has been wallowed out yet.

All gates closed when i was there on 6/4/26. Midway gate locked off of BRP.

Whoever reported this trail is open is completely wrong. I just tried going the past weekend (May 30th) and the gates were completely closed to vehicle traffic. I believe this trail opens on August 1st.

Any water holes or crossings were fairly low with ice accumulating around the rim of any holes. Ran it north to south with the southern section having deeper ruts and some unavoidable off camber sections that shouldn’t be an issue. A deeply rutted descent into a shallow mud hole may scrape the undercarriage off lower clearance vehicles. Breakover at numerous spots could catch some stock-height full-size trucks; particularly with running boards. Had 6 other vehicles coming the other way…fortunately at areas we could all get by.

Ran the trail from Robinson Gap Rd to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stock Gladiator Willys, didn't air down. Parts of the trail have some ruts and tighter breakover angles so there were a few scrapes and bumps but with a little planning and careful line picking it was fairly minor. Got a very late start from Hampton Roads so ended up hitting the trailhead at around midnight. Stock halogen lights on the Gladiator would have been enough but a little extra light made things easier.

We completed the trail in our stock wrangler but trail is rutted out pretty bad with lots of humps you may bottom out on if not approached at the right angle and steep angles I would recommend if you are stock to be a experienced driver or you may get into trouble other than that great fun trail. Had to use 4 wheel low. Lifted 4x4 should have no problem.
