Trail Overview

If entering from the south, the hard part is first. The northern end of the trail is an easy dirt track. Coming up the hill from the south are many differential dingers and under carriage crunchers. The trail gets a bit narrow at times but is easily passed with a good spotter. The rougher parts skirt the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest on your right and the North Adams, MA property on your left. You may encounter some mud, but nothing too deep. While there are no stunning views, there are some challenges that require at least some forethought to get around.

Difficulty

You will definitely need 35" tires to get over some of the larger rocks. The trail is tight for jeeps.

History

This is a class 4 Vermont "highway." This means that it is a public right of way that is not maintained and may be of questionable condition.

There is a sign at the beginning of the trail that says no outlet- this is not true- it ends at a T with a regular road that gets you to north Adams in 6 minutes.

Trail open and dry despite heavy storm yesterday. Runs per OnX description. Note that I ran this and Brown Road in Savoy same weekend. I am surprised OnX rates Brown 5 and OMR 4. I would reverse that especially running OMR South-North.

Have done a couple 4 rated trails before and this one has definitely been the toughest. I had to get out and spot my wife through so I wouldn't damage the vehicle, if it was just me I would have backed down the trail. stock 4runner on 33s

Trail is technical and tight at times to start from the South end. Rocks can be slippery and loose but manageable with a mostly stock Gladiator Overland on 35's.

A larger tree has fallen across the trail at a 45 degree angle. Small vehicles should be able to go under but I couldn't with my bronco. I was able to go around but it was a little tricky. Rest of the trail was great and very fun.

description is spot on, entered from the south and was greeted by some decent size rocks, some dingers for sure and a spotter is recommended for some areas as the trail gets pretty tight. not sure about room to pass.
