Trail Overview

Castle Brook Trail, otherwise known as Forest Road 325, is open to wheeled vehicles from May 1 through December 15. This route showcases a variety of trail conditions found in the Green Mountain area. It begins as a scenic two-track following Castle Brook, with campsites and pull-offs along the way. Eventually, the trail narrows and becomes rougher. Follow it to the end for a rewarding view of a large beaver meadow surrounded by pine forest.

Difficulty

Highly suggest air down your tires to save your suspension and yourself. The track is extremely rough for the last mile. There were some flags put up indicating logging may be in these forests in the near future, but as of right now, this track remains primitive in nature.

Took this trail on 6/1 the day after rain. Gladiator on 33s. Plenty of shallow water/mud holes but never even had to take it out of 2WD. Watch for exposed metal culverts along the way. View is mostly trees and the brook the trail is named for.

A bit more technical than the other guided trails in this area but I’d say it’s mostly a 2-3 difficulty rather than a 4. A couple washes that you’d want a little clearance for and the last mile or so before the gate at the end gets pretty muddy.

Castle Brook Trail Trail can be accessed by the following ride types:

  • High Clearance
