Trail Overview

A scenic, easy route crossing the Appalachian Trail. Along the way are ancient stone walls and foundations, a breakfast house for trail hikers with a porta-potty, and even a cemetery. There are several moderate difficulty areas with short bypass routes. The photos show the moderate difficulty routes and the bypass, which has the white truck on top of the hill in the distance. Both routes are fun, the road is relatively short, and it makes a great loop to Podunk Rd, ending just feet from the Burton Woods trailhead. The loop takes approximately an hour.

Pretty fun trail. Went south to north. Most of it's pretty easy, except for somewhere in the middle where there's a bit of mud due to water streaming nearby.
