Trail Overview

Going west to east, this trail starts out fast but quickly climbs up several nasty rock ledges and pinches that require technical skill to navigate. Watch out for your pegs. There is a long rocky climb near the beginning that navigates to the top of a ridge line. Then the trail follows the ridge line with severe exposure, and rock slab sections around the rim. It goes into a burn area with open views above the Colorado River. The eastern end of the trail is a bit easier once you are on top of the ridge line. This is a really fun, must-see trail in the area and a greater challenge than most of the trails in the surrounding area. This section of Zion Curtain dumps out on a dirt road before starting the second half of Zion Curtain, which is much easier.
