Trail Overview

Widow Maker Road is a point-to-point 4/10 trail running through BLM and Utah Trust lands in the Honda Hills area north of Vernal, Utah. Mostly desert terrain, it stretches across flat open land and tackles climbs and descents over multiple ridgelines. The southwestern part is generally open desert two-track, while the northeastern third offers the toughest challenges with climbs and descents coupled with off-camber tight switchbacks and rutted shelf roads. It’s open to all vehicles, but the bigger the vehicle, the tougher the ride—full-sized rigs face obstacles that smaller ones like an SxS can handle more easily. Overall, it’s a mix of great views and fun technical sections.
