Trail Overview

The White Tower Trail (BLM 102) connects Peek-A-Boo Slot Canyon Loop to Kanab Creek Trail. It's 4.5 miles of beautiful, deep sand through the Juniper trees as you travel around White Tower. The scenery in this area of Southern Utah is simply spectacular. Red sandstone mountains jutting up from the landscape right next to White Tower and other whitish or gray mountains. The Juniper trees are close to the trail and may damage flags and tall whip lights. On the south end of the trail you find a beautiful area where run-off or rain water has worn a path through the sandstone rocks. It's between Peek-A-Boo and Red Canyon. You move through both red sand and lighter-colored sand. You go by places where the red sandstone and dirt meet the white sands in the bottom of the wash. Simple amazing scenery. There is nothing technical on this trail, but the deep sand can be challenging at times. Bring lunch because there is a LOT to see in this area of Southern Utah. In February of 2023 Utah began enforcement of a new law, which requires an online education course for all off-roaders. The free course is available online. Google "Utah OHV Education Course," and the free test will pop up. It's an easy test that will only take 15-30 minutes, and it's required for all off-roaders, Jeeps, SXSs, dirt bikes, ATVs. Kids under the age of 18 will have to take the Youth Education Test at the same site. After completing the test, print out the certificate to carry with you which shows you completed the course. We have taken it, and it's really no big deal. Good reminders about trail etiquette and trail preservation.
