Trail Overview

This sandy trail is a shortcut between Green River Cutoff Road and Wedge Overlook Road (CR405) saving over four miles. It is a relatively easy, graded road. The trail is wide with large sweeping turns. It can get washboarded during times of heavy traffic. Be cautious of vehicles going in the other direction.

History

The Wedge in the San Rafael Swell is a plateau encompassing a 1,200-foot-deep gorge, eroded by the San Rafael River, and known as the "Little Grand Canyon," formed during the Laramide Orogeny around 40-70 million years ago, exposing ancient rock layers.
