Trail Overview

This desert wash is a 5-mile trail south of Sand Hollow/Hurricane, UT, in the shadow of the West Rim of Sand Hollow. You get a good view of Punchbowl Dome, and the trail connects to Warner Valley Road, where you can continue on and see the dinosaur tracks or the petroglyphs. Our SXS is a 4-seater, 75" wide, and we had no problem maneuvering the turns in the wash. As with any desert wash, if it's raining, beware. Washes turn into torrential rivers if it's raining hard enough.

Difficulty

This is an easy wash. Some areas of erosion, some ledges and drop-offs, but if it's dry, it's easy.

Did the trail south to north in a stock Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 32” highway tires. A couple of spots had to pause and pick a line, but 99% of the trail was just nice and pretty flat. A couple of deeper sand spots but my highway tires didn’t have an issue. Towards the end I took a left to get back on the highway instead of going into the state park and it’s a straight shot once you see the overpass. Great first trail ride for a beginner.
