Trail Overview

The trail starts pretty mellow and then starts to climb up the ridge. It starts to get more rocky and steep, and the trees start to get tighter on each side of the trail. The first major obstacle is the hill climb that is 30 degrees at some parts, and is extremely loose with big boulders. Decent clearance, tires, and power will be needed for this section. After the hill climb, the trail is much tighter and works its way down the ridge again and opens up towards the end. There are many parts where you should watch your sides due to overgrowth. Big trucks would not fit on this trail without some Rocky Mountain pinstripes. The views of the mountains are amazing on the trail when it opens up.

tried doing this trail in my high clearance manual subaru, everything was pretty easy until the super steep and pretty long climb, clutch was not having it so had to turn around. trail was in fair condition and any automatic car with 4/awd with like a foot of clearance could do it

Had a fun day trip, only one other person encountered. A bit sketchy towards the top with a lot of tmud. Definitely recommend having someone to guide you during some of the more challenging parts.

Squeezed in a late afternoon ride with my buds. No one else on the trail. Incredible vistas at the top before descending to the trails end. And BTW, no visible gate at the end. Appeared as if we could have proceeded on to Strawberry Ridge. This trail starts off at the gun club and works its way up a passed a number of pull outs where folks like to go to sight their rifles. Once you're clear of this impromptu shooting area, the trail gets rougher and continues to wind up the mountain. The 4 rating seems accurate and comes specifically from a few loose rock, gnarly climbs. It's all worth it however. The views of Heber valley, the Wasatch back, Deer Creek reservoir and Wallsburg along the way are incredible. Will definitely do this trail again next year.

Trail ends at the locked gate of the private road/trail. Trail was rough loose rocks and didn’t shift to 4WD for the first portion. Great views. Out and back in 75 mins.
