Trail Overview

This is a very scenic loop trail that wanders through open meadows, aspens, and pines. Approximately halfway through on the far side of the loop, you will go along the edge of a very large drop-off. Along this route, there are several spots to stop and enjoy the view out over the valley. It is not advised to take a trailer on this trail. There are several spots to dry camp along the trail.

Difficulty

This is an intermediate type trail. There are open areas that a car could go on but there are a few spots that a car would not make it through. In those spots, a stock full-size truck or SUV could navigate. Smaller, lower-clearance vehicles will struggle more and may have damage.

As always, folks in air conditioned 4x4s say it’s “easy” and since those hardly ever fall over, it probably is. It is however pretty challenging on a 400+lb ADV Moto, clockwise probably better on a moto, stunning views are worth the challenge!

Stunning place to watch the sun rise, makes this trail worth the loop. If you go clockwise and turn around at the cliff edge, this trail is very easy. Coming in counter-clockwise is more fun but not a challenge for any vehicle with good clearance. Unless too wide and long, will get scratches on the narrow trail.

From the approach out and backing the left track (clockwise) is much more friendly if you just want to check out the views. Doing the loop you’ll encounter a 2 or 3 steps around a foot or so tall, plus a little loose rock. Right portion of the track is also pretty narrow. The views are incredible.

With the right trailer build, you can take trailer all the way to the top! A great 3 night trip.

Beautiful trail and quite easy. Dont need 4x4 or really even high clearance if you take the north route to the cliff. Two smalll ledges on the south route easy to navigate without a spotter

Super fun trail, not too tight, and wasn’t extremely technical. There were 2 rock features that a spotter would be very helpful so you don’t smack anything but could be done pretty easily. The cliff view was worth it too.

Great ride to some great views. Rode my 450 out and also did the top of the world loop. Not advisable to do on full size adv bikes loaded but could be done.
