Trail Overview

Top of the World is a very popular trail located outside Moab. Its relatively easy as far as Moab is concerned, and the scenery factor is very high. Its also easily done in a half day making it a good shorter option. You end on the brink of a huge cliff.

Trail seems like it's an easy day until you get to the big main obstacle, and even the bypass is now more difficult. Don't go alone as the two groups had broken axles or driveshafts when we were there. The view at the top is unbelievable. There are lots of ledges where if you don't have armor or high clearance/approach angles, you'll bang on some rocks. It's a great trail but not easy anymore.

Rating on this is a joke. It’s more like an 8. SxS have tore this trail up bad.

Trail is deteriorated a lot so the rating is too low now. We made it about 1 mile from the top. It was still worth hiking the last mile. Damage would have occurred with a stock Rivian if we continued.

I’ve been on this trail 5+ times over the last 6 years, and it just keeps getting more difficult. Ledges that used to be 2 feet are now 3.5 feet and undercut. You need to have a good spotter and know how to pick a line. Strongly recommend 35s, good clearance, and a rear locker at minimum. Expect to drag your rear bumper on several obstacles. I dragged my current rig, a 2000 Suburban 2500 w/ rear locker and moderate suspension work, up the thing but just barely. High centered multiple times and got some new trail damage. Still a fun trail with a great view, but know what you’re getting into!
