Trail Overview

The start of the trail is pretty open and flowy and isn't difficult at all. Eventually, you will encounter some rock gardens with some sections that require a decent approach, breakover, and departure angle. Take it slow and you will be okay. Next, you will reach a river that requires being driven up, be careful in the springtime as it will be higher. The trail starts to get tighter the farther you go up, and it is recommended not to continue unless you are okay with some pin striping. Towards the top, you will find an off-camber section on a very tight part of the trail that requires some careful and slow movements. The first section of the trail ends once you hit the rock field, as it becomes much more difficult and rocky. There is a very small turnaround before, but anything longer than a 4runner would struggle to flip around.

Difficulty

There are many sections that have big loose rocks and washes. Some puddles can be around a foot deep and the river can be deep and fast in the spring time. There are large rocks that require decent ground clearance on steep and tight roads.

Really sick trail but a lot of downed trees that are impassable I rode on my dirtbike and passed them but in a 4x4 you won’t

Rockier than I remember in the past and there are some difficult spots where 4 LO is required, but it's definitely doable. River was not high at all, easy crossing. Was able to make it to and cross the rockslide in a stock 2024 Tacoma SR5. Just take it slow, use a spotter on the rockslide if you have one. I did not but was able to make it through without issue. It is definitely tight, but doable. After the rockslide there are some great campsites away from it all. Overall, a fun, techy trail.

Fun but short trail. A few river crossings, but worth the trip. Dead ends about 3 miles up. ATV trail to White Pine is obstructed with fallen trees, and can be challenging with narrow trails and rocky slopes.

It was my first time here, I don’t think I got very far in to the actual trail before coming to a fork that had two options that made me turn around considering I was solo without a winch. One went steep with good sized snow covered boulders, the other had a big ditch with mud that I wasn’t sure I could make it through. Up til that point it was really beautiful and fun. Definitely want to go back better prepared.
