Trail Overview

This is the first 14 miles of Smoky Mountain Road as it passes through a portion of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area above Lake Powell. It is most often used to reach the popular viewpoint at Alstrom Point but also continues North into BLM land before reaching the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. It is a wide, graded dirt road.

Came down all the way from Escalante. Decent trail. Road in some spots, trail in others. Bottom side near Glen Canyon border is spectacular.
