Trail Overview
This two-track trail traverses some of the highest geographical parts of the Gunlock area. It follows the spine of the highest ridge for about 5 miles as it parallels an old barbed wire fence on top. The trail has no significant obstacles or challenging parts other than several steep rocky sections that could be hard because of the loose rocks on the trail. There are a few spots where the trail gets slightly off camber. 4WD is required, and high clearance is a plus. The southern end of the trail is a sandy wash. This trail is best done north to south, but can be run the other way. Keep an eye out for deer and cattle along the way. This trail provides great views of the land all around and highlights the beauty of the Gunlock area with the red rocks and cedar forests.
