Cole Spring Ridge

This is an out-and-back trail that starts at Cole Spring near Manganese Road and ends at the southwest base of Square Top Mountain. The first half of the trail is rutted out and a bit off camber in one spot, and the second half is very rocky and bumpy. It provides great views of the otherworldly sandstone formations that the trail parallels to the west. This is one of the highest trails in the area and provides great panoramic views of the area. At the end of the trail, you can hike into the rugged sandstone and discover some natural springs and some big pools of water. There are also some dispersed camping spots along the way.
