Trail Overview

One of the most famous, and most difficult, trails in Moab, Pritchett Canyon is a bucket-list adventure. This route tests even the toughest rigs and experienced riders. Be prepared to winch and damage your vehicle. Expect off-camber turns, huge ledges and long, difficult climbs-most of which do not offer a bypass. Flash floods are possible. The trail only gets harder as you go on. The reward is a very exciting ride and the striking, out-of-this-world scenery that Moab is famous for.

Difficulty

Extremely difficult. For big, customized, hard-core rigs only. Huge, off-camber ledges lie in wait for drivers too proud to winch (winch points on Chewy Hill, Rocker Knocker, Axle Hill and Yellow Hill). We left our modified 2-door Rubicon at home and wisely rode with Moab Friends for Wheelin'. Study YouTube(r) videos before you go.

You need serious 4x4 with large clearance and a winch

Trail was open with many spots of snow and ice which is normal for January. Rocker Knocker was very sandy and covered with some ice which made negotiating the obstacle harder than normal. Most of the advanced obstacles are getting really dug out at the bases and has created flat walls to struggle getting traction up. We made it through without damage or breaking.

The larger obstacles are getting under cut quite a bit. Under cuts are getting larger than 75% of most tire capabilities. Anchor point at Rocker Knuckle has been bent and pulled out a little. The obstacle Rock Pile is getting under cut and dug out making it very difficult claiming 2 Jeeps while we were out, an anchor point is highly recommended for that obstacle. No standing water on the trails making them dry and dusty.
