Trail Overview

This is a very scenic ride in Logan Canyon. It takes you to on the Sinks Road to Peter Sinks which is the second coldest place in the lower 48. You then get back to the sinks road and climb up to an amazing overlook at the top of Temple Peak. Could be impassable with snow during winter.

Snow is clear 15in tree blocking the top ridge. Can get halfway up and easily turn around.

the trail map isn't accurate. looks like they shut down the original trail and cut a new one. just keep following it until you get to the peak and you'll be fine. I had to move a few live branches hanging over the trail. Do everyone a favor and bring some pruners if you go and cut them off. Gorgeous views and a fun trail, definitely worth it.

Entered the trail from the north. pretty easy going up to the top, though it gets pretty narrow so expect some scratches. went back down on the south side and there is a downed tree that forced us back up and around back the way we came. will need a chainsaw to get that one out of the way

Great weather, frosty in the morning, mostly dry hardened ground. A number of people were out hunting. started at west hodges canyon to turkey trail (some steep and rocky sections - little bear is an easier route) to the sinks weather station. dropped down to garden city for food then attempted east hodges (turned back too muddy and waterlogged to do without a winch) hit temple view and the loop taking little bear back to west hodges.

Great views. Most people were on SXS, some ATV use and a few motorcycles, mtn bikers, and hikers. I saw no closures and many users in the Peter Sinks area. The only closure in the Temple Peak loop is at the saddle northeast near Temple Peak. There were two diversion roads around the closed section, one to get out to the peak, and another to continue the loop.
