Northside Tobin Bench

Northside Tobin Bench is a scenic, moderately challenging two-mile trail designed for offroaders seeking a deserty, canyon-like driving experience with a few technical elements. Navigating this route provides a stark contrast to the ridgeline views on the southern side of the bench, guiding drivers through narrow, winding terrain. This track features a technical rating of 3, characterized by steep, narrow shelf roads, off-camber transitions, and small ledge shelves that require careful tire placement. Drivers will encounter loose hill climbs that demand reliable traction, making it an engaging run for stock four-wheel-drive vehicles, high-clearance SUVs, and SxSs looking to test their capabilities. Starting at an elevation of 4,170 feet and climbing to 4,584 feet, the route accumulates approximately 414 feet of elevation gain over its unpaved, dirt and rock surface. The path winds along the northern side of the bench before connecting with the entrance loop for the Bull Valley ATV Trail No. 34047 on the west end, facilitating excellent route linking opportunities. Cell coverage is limited but functional, with roughly two bars of LTE service typically available along the trail. While dry conditions make this trail highly accessible, wet weather can quickly slick the dirt surfaces and increase the difficulty of the steep climbs and off-camber sections.
