Trail Overview

This trail runs along Lake Mountain with a view looking down onto Eagle Mountain. It starts in Reformation Canyon. The trail is pretty mellow for the first 5.5 miles and consists mainly of hard-packed trails. 2 miles in is a gate that is to remain closed as you pass through. As this trail comes into Wiley Canyon and then into Wildcat Canyon and Mercer Canyon, it becomes more technical as the trail becomes tighter with washed-out sections and sections of loose rock and big rocks. The trail ends at the end of the Israel Canyon Lake Mountain Pass which continues onto Soldiers Pass.

Great mix of whoops, rock crawling, and open dirt roads. Lots of offshoot with more difficult obstacles that are fun.

There’s a gate at the bottom of the trail it’s for the cows so you just have to close the gate when you go through.

Most of the trail is a 2 with some technical obstacles on the later half landing at a 3. The trail is long and mostly composed of small rocks and washboards making it uncomfortable and uneventful. There are some tight spots and small camber sections. A stock vehicle with at least 31s and 4low to be in control for the two technical spots is recommended.

Only one on the trail. It was normal conditions, dry not wet unlike other trails on top of Lake Mountain.

Fun trail. Took us longer because we’re newer to Jeeping. Its fun seeing what our Jeep can do.

Made it 20% through the trail before smashing my skid plate on a 14” rock on the edge of the trail. Learn from my mistakes and don’t try to Baja race it, kids.
