Trail Overview

The road stretches from Sandy Ranch Road on the West end. It traverses through a desert-type area with many small buttes, gullies, and clay-like soil. It can be very slick when wet. Sagebrush and Cedar trees make up most of the foliage in the area. Both Bison and large Mule Deer frequent the area.

Difficulty

The road is wide enough for 2 cars in places but can also be slick during inclement weather. There is a creek crossing that can be impassable after a heavy rain and requires maintenance every year to keep the road in good working condition.

Climbs gradually from the desert to aspens. Mostly easy, a few sandy patches and many arroyo crossings that could be a problem for vehicles without clearance or anyone if wet.
