Trail Overview

This is a difficult trail that leads from the top of Duchesne Ridge down to the valley and a beautiful alpine lake. The trail is steep and very rough in places. There are two sections of mud holes, and one is very deep and needs to be taken with care and ease. Other than those two sections, the trail is sweet with a little spice. The bonus is the lake at the end.

Difficulty

This trail is rated 5 due to the one mud hole crossing near the end. It's deep and can become quite a challenge if one is not in the correct rig.

Easy trail until the creek below the lake, potential for getting stuck in some mud. We hiked the last 1/4 mile instead.

Short trail to pretty but shallow and cow-loved lake. Don't count on fishing here. Most of trail is a 3. There was a deep wash where the stream flows out, need a little clearance for that. A few great dispersed campsites at the lake and just past it.
