FS Trail #41040

FS Trail #41040 connects Tip Top Road to FS Trail #41020. You drop down from 8,800 feet and run parallel to Line and Hop Canyons as the trail turns north towards I-70. This trail goes through a burned area from a fire. Some call it the "angry orchard." The trail is a mix of dirt and rock. There is a bit of erosion from rain, but it's an easy trail. The views are spectacular in every direction. You are likely to see cattle grazing here in the summertime, and the possibility of seeing wildlife is high. This trail won't open until July unless the winter is very mild.
