Trail Overview

Forshea Mountain South is a 4.5-mile point-to-point trail rated 3 of 10 located in the Fishlake National Forest. This trail connects Malmsten Forshea Mountain PST 73 (Forshea Mountain Overlook Loop) on the east side with Monroe Road Cut-Across on the west side. This little-used trail wraps around the southern side of the twin peaks of Forshea and Malmsten Mountains. The trail offers a unique set of diverse terrain including steep climbs, narrow wooded tracks, and open plains along with some long-distance valley views. This is the only track across the Forshea/Malmsten ridgeline which extends another 4 miles south to Phonolite Hill. This trail is typically available between June and October depending upon snowfall. It will be inaccessible in winter. The Forshea Mountain trails are part of the Paiute Trail system and are located in Piute County and start in the town of Marysvale UT. 178 miles south of Provo Utah. The trailhead begins in Marysvale Town Park where you are welcome to park while you ride. There is a restroom with running water here. While we rode approximately 45 miles there are many many more miles (thousands) of trails in the area. It will take you 4-5 hours to explore this trail depending on your driving and whether you take some of the side trails available. There are no services out on the trail so stock up on anything you need before leaving Marysvale.

Because it was so over grown I would classify this trail as 50ā€. I’m 60ā€ and was doing some serious bush whacking.

A very easy ride. Rocky road mostly and some spots that were dusty. Had no issue with a 60 inch side by side except that trails bushes and trees were overgrown around trail; thus slapped in face by limbs! No way that a larger vehicle would fit around some of the sharp turns.
