Trail Overview

This is an easy trail bordering Eagle Canyon Wilderness. The trail ranges from flat dirt track through the open desert to sandy/rocky Coal Wash. The North end of the trail provides access to the Eva Conover, North Coal Wash, Devil's Racetrack trails, and an extensive trail system further North.

Difficulty

This was marked as a 3 difficulty due to a sharp turn at around at the 7.2 mile mark. The turn may be difficult for larger vehicles as it is at the bottom of a steep slope with a cliff directly in front. Pictures included.

I got started after 10am. It was windy with blowing dust. Once I was along the trail it got less. The only real technical section was the descent into the canyon where 4lo was needed especially with a trailer (Tentrax). Kept it in 4lo until I was out of the canyon. The climb up was technical used my lockers due to the steep ascent with the trailer. As I got to the top and leveled off I stopped to get into 4hi I saw a SxS type vehicle behind me, I was able to find a turnout to let them pass.
