Cart Hollow

Connecting Herd Hollow Road to Richard's Hollow is Cart Hollow. It's a slightly easier way to connect with upper Richard's Hollow and has less traffic than lower Richard's Hollow. Going up the trail from Herd Hollow Road, the trail starts off with some rocks, and has a fairly steep climb about a mile in. The top of the trail opens up to a beautiful meadow that is full of wild flowers in the spring. The trail then drops into Richards Hollow. There are some rocky and steep sections dropping down into Richard's Hollow. Cart Hollow is a great alternate to get to the upper Richard's Hollow trail. Note that Herd Hollow Road is closed until June 1.
