This trail goes from Notom-Bullfrog Road to Capitol Reef National Park over the Waterpocket Fold. Once the trail enters Grand Staircase a couple of miles from the top, it becomes a paved road. It winds its way up the Waterpocket Fold in several steep switchbacks. There is a nice overlook at the top. It then carries you out of the Park and into Grand Staircase-Escalante.

We approached Burr from Notom Bullfrog Rd and got turned around at a mud pit about 1/2 mile down Burr Trail. Thee had been a heavy rain the day before and it was just muddy enough for us to not feel comfortable driving through in our full side truck + bed camper. The mud was very sticky. We watched a Tacoma and a dirtbike also turn around. Something to be aware of after a heavy rain. Otherwise, incredible area!

Easy trail. Anything with clearance will do if it’s been dry. Just have to endure the washboard getting to it from 24.

OHV are prohibited including street legal at the Capitol Reef border. Signed with cameras present.
