Arthur's Fork

Arthur's Fork is a short, scenic four-wheel-drive trail ideal for intermediate offroaders seeking stunning high-elevation views and a bit of a challenge along the Wasatch Range. Branching off from the Farmington Canyon Loop, this roughly one-mile route quickly introduces drivers to rocky, rutted surfaces caused by seasonal snowmelt. The trail meanders through dense pine and aspen groves at an elevation fluctuating between 7,550 and 7,750 feet, offering a quiet escape from more heavily trafficked routes nearby. High-clearance vehicles are highly recommended due to several off-camber sections and deep, unpredictable mud pits that often linger well into the summer months. Traversing this route requires careful line choice, particularly when encountering the larger mud holes and washed-out sections that give the trail its technical rating of 4. Stock four-wheel-drive vehicles with good tires and decent clearance can navigate the path, but SxSs and modified rigs will find it much easier. The trail is typically accessible from late spring through autumn, depending on snowpack levels, and serves as an excellent connector or side trip when exploring the Farmington Flats area. Be prepared for tight clearances through some of the forested sections, and ensure your vehicle is equipped to handle slick, uneven terrain.
