Trail Overview

This trail is a low risk, high pay out trail with lots of jaw dropping views. The trail could honestly be done in a 2WD sedan if you don't explore any of the side trails. There are lots of picnicking and dispersed camping sites along the way. The trail runs from Tibble Fork reservoir in American Fork canyon and comes out at Midway by Wasatch State Park. The full trail is graded dirt with some washboards (please use 4High if you have it to keep these from getting worse) and can be ran in either direction. There are some tighter sections than others where it will be a little more tricky to get off to the side to let any oncoming vehicles pass, but be patient and courteous and others will do the same.

Coming up from Tibblefork up to where all the trail off shoots are is easily done in 2Hi and a crossover could make it. Be warned that this trail will be closed 12/01 per the forest service sign on the trail. It closes at the bridge over the river, so no camping until it opens back up. But hiking should be “open”.

A little harder than a 1/10. It’s got some deeper ruts once you get closer to the Midway side. There are some exposed rocks and washboards. It’s easy enough to pass on most of the trail. Fully open from Tibble Fork, and all other branch offs are also open.

Construction still in progress on the washout area. You can drive most of the trail from the Midway side, but there is a locked gate just below the start of Forest Lake.

apparently it's closed for the season because the road "sluffed" about 1 mile past tibble fork reservoir.

Trail was extremely deteriorated and actively getting worse since 4th of July. My modified TRD Pro had some small trouble with certain sections. Over all, not terrible, but be aware of the razors back there. Some of them fly through there doing ~40mph.
