Trail Overview
As this trail is shorter of only a little over 200 yards, it can be a tricky trail. Starting at the end of Three Forks to the right of the fork, you will encounter loose rocks and small boulders and with the elevation change of over 70 feet through this short trail. The trail progressively gets more difficult as you make your way through to the top of it. The boulders get bigger and looser, and towards the end, you start encountering rock shelves and ledges to overcome, requiring a 4x4 and possibly lockers, as well as high clearance vehicles are recommended. As you work your way through to the top, you will also encounter off-camber obstacles, which will become more difficult to complete. Towards the end of the trail (at the top) is the most challenging obstacle on this trail, with a large shelf to climb. The trial ends on the Southwest Rim Trail towards the south side of the park, where you can turn left or right.
Difficulty
This trail starts with a rock garden at the bottom of the trailhead and progressively gets more difficult as you work your way up the 70-foot elevation change in only 212 yards. As you make your way up the trail, you will encounter rock ledges, shelves, and larger loose boulders. There are a couple of off-camber obstacles to overcome, and there are no bypasses for any of the obstacles. There are several large trees on the side of the trail for winch points if needed. Some of these obstacles can vary in 2' to 6' in height.
