Trail Overview
As you encounter this technical level trail, you can climb your way to the top of this 113 ft elevation gain in about 500 yards of trail. Starting, entering the trail off of Three Forks Trail, you will encounter loose rock, small boulders, and increasingly larger and more challenging obstacles as you make your way through. This trail is covered by a heavy tree canopy and moderate to tall dirt walls throughout. About halfway through, you have to turn right onto a route that appears off-trail, but it is the correct way to follow. If you pass this turn, you will encounter a very large hole and a wall of rock that is impassable. Once you follow the bypass, you will return to the main trail line and continue up the hill with more challenging obstacles ahead. You will start encountering 3-5-foot ledges to overcome and a couple of off-camber spots as well. Be advised lots of loose rocks and small boulders throughout the trail. Finishing the trail at the top of your final ascent involves steep grades and several ledges and climbs, including a rock wall that is about 6-7 feet tall.
Difficulty
As this trail starts easy on loose rocks and small boulders, the rocks and boulders increasingly get larger as you progress through the trail. About halfway through the trail, you will start encountering 3-5-foot climbs with loose boulders and shelves. The trail has several off-camber spots as you overcome the obstacles. The final ascent is about 50 feet of a steep grade requiring high clearance, 4x4-type vehicles, and highly recommending differential lockers to ease the challenge. A winch is highly recommended as well.
