Trail Overview

Escondido Trail (V36) is an easy and scenic off-road route inside Escondido Draw Recreation Area that is well suited for overlanders and high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles. The trail travels across mostly gravel and dirt terrain with occasional rocky sections and small ruts along the way. Some portions of the route become tighter, but overall the trail remains straightforward and provides a relaxing way to explore the park without encountering highly technical obstacles.

Escondido Trail (V36) is an easy gravel and dirt trail with occasional rocks, small ruts, and uneven sections that may require basic tire placement. There are no major technical obstacles, steep climbs, or large rock features to navigate. A high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended, particularly for the rougher and tighter sections of the trail.
