Trail Overview
Carnage Canyon is a bidirectional trail, and the overall experience varies significantly depending on the direction of travel. The route features steep elevation changes, with either sharp climbs or descents, along with loose boulders and frequent stair-stepped ledges throughout. Scattered washouts also appear along the trail, challenging a vehicle’s suspension articulation and stability. While there are no officially marked bypasses, most rock obstacles offer multiple line choices, allowing drivers to select routes based on vehicle capability and skill level. Careful observation and precise tire placement are essential throughout the trail.
Difficulty
The trail features frequent steep elevation changes in both ascent and descent, requiring careful throttle control and traction management throughout. Loose boulders and stair-stepped ledges are common, with some obstacles approaching challenging heights that can push vehicle articulation and clearance to their limits.
