Trail Overview
Buckhorn Trail offers a scenic ride along the hilltop rim, providing phenomenal views of the park’s landscape throughout the journey. The trail features a couple of very small rock ledges, but these obstacles are easily tackled with most vehicle types, making this stretch inviting and fun for a wide range of drivers. Buckhorn Trail conveniently connects Skully Canyon and Pipeline Trails, serving as an easy route between them; however, reaching Buckhorn requires traversing three very difficult trails first, so be prepared for a challenging approach before enjoying this beautiful and accessible route.
Difficulty
Buckhorn Trail is rated level 3 for its overall easygoing nature, with only a couple of small rock ledges along the hilltop rim that are manageable for most vehicles. The main challenge is not on the trail itself but in the very difficult access routes required to reach it.
