Trail Overview

Old Mill Creek Road is great for someone just getting into off-roading. Most, if not all, of this route is safe and easy enough for high-clearance 2WD. However, there are one to two muddy/rocky areas that could benefit from 4WD depending on the amount of rain the area has received and how muddy it is. This is a very relaxing and scenic route that takes you through a heavily-wooded area and crosses over Mill Creek several times over 5 miles. If you happen to make this trek during the hot summer months and approach from the east, a small swimming hole will reward you at the end of the drive! Late fall, winter, and early spring will produce a more wet/muddy terrain and also provide a better view of Mill Creek and the surroundings.

Difficulty

There is one area that consists of larger rocks, requiring a higher clearance. There are also several creek crossings along the way. Depending on the season and amount of rain, you will find several mud holes and slick areas.

Great little easy trail with a few river crossings. Stock friendly, one somewhat technical climb. Great scenery the whole way!

Trail was overall in good shape met one atv and motorcycle. Water crossings were not overly deep and trail was mostly dry. A couple of tougher obstacles that take some planning and proper lines but made for a nice evening offroad fun

Super fun trail with creek crossings. 2 to 3 obstacles that gave you the opportunity to route plan. Obstacles between 4-12” high. Going West to East seemed a little more challenging than going East to West.

This was a fun first trail/ first time taking my new truck off road. It was pretty easy to navigate with a few shallow creek crossings and dirt/ gravel roads. There are two spots that take a bit of planning and navigating through. Did it in a 4x4 Tacoma SR5 with 31” tires and 3” lift no problem.

We covered about half of the trail, mostly smith dirt roads with a couple/few spots that require some care to traverse with a four wheel drive vehicle. There are several spots to pull off to the side to take in the scenery and water. We’ll definitely be back!

Took this route in a stock Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road. Straight forward with a few technical sections that would be easier with a lift and/or larger tires. Fairly dry conditions and the creek was not too deep. Beautiful day! We ended up approaching from the East and saw a few other riders coming from the West.

Great conditions, a few creek crossings and two minor rock crawling areas. Had a good time and only saw about 10 other people, mostly motorcycles of some sort and a few locals

Rode this trail in late April 2025. It is more eroded and washed out in a few places. Especially mid-trail the toughest section has large rocks and deep ruts. Did it in stock 2023 Defender and street tires but quite challenging.

Trail was a little wet. Few puddles to splash in. Water crossings were maybe 6”. Could easily cross in stock truck or suv. Few of the bigger rocks showed signs of erosion. Recommend at least AT Tires. Sun was shining and very peaceful. Didn’t see anyone else out there today. It was perfect for my wife and I.

Best part of the entire scooters loop. No obstruction, be sure to have knowledge on how to take lines. Completed in a stock height SR5 Tacoma.

Coming from east to west, after the third creek crossing, there was a recently fallen, medium diameter tree blocking the road. We were able to clear it with the help of three other trail riders coming from west to east. With recent heavy rains, the most challenging part of the trail was eroded more than usual, exposing large rocks and boulders. Ground clearance was very important. Today, this trail rode more like a 5 or 6.

Did scooter's loop in counterclockwise direction for the 2nd time with some friends and came across this tree that must've fallen in the last month. Broke off dead branch's and had to hold back the biggest branch with ratchet straps to surrounding trees, but it got us through. Wanted to make this trail report as a "heads up".

Water levels are high. This Chevy didn’t fair too well. There was also a F-250.
