TR #319

I was disappointed that the trail rating was inaccurate! Its rating is listed as a 5/10 and is no more than a 2! There’s a couple of small rock steps but that’s it. I was alone and the real difficulty on this trail are the cattle gates that you open and close after going through; if I remember correctly, there were 5 gates. Also, this trail is in a national forest and it ends about a half mile from a road that you can depart on. There’s a sign that states no vehicles beyond this point on the boundary fence and just an opening for the road, no gate. I was running low on fuel and was concerned about backtracking and continued through the fence. Came to another gate with a “no trespassing” sign posted. This was about a quarter mile from the main road. Opened and closed, then continued on and would suffer any consequences if approached for trespassing; didn’t happen. There was one more gate I had to go through; these 2 gates brought the total to 7. BTW, I never would have done this if I had more fuel.

We were looking for a blue (4-6) trail. This trail features some beautiful overlooks, however we would rate it a 2 (green) Very easy trail.
