Trail Overview

Newton 33 is a short, rocky, and tight little blast through classic Black Hills terrain -- just enough to get the tires flexing and the blood pumping. It's not long, but it packs a punch with a few chunky climbs, narrow turns, and loose rock sections that'll keep you honest. This one's best run with a high-clearance rig and maybe a spotter if you're riding solo -- the lines can get technical quick in the tighter spots. The trail weaves through dense pine, brushing up against the edge of steeper terrain where erosion has carved some off-camber fun into the hillside. No real camp spots here, but it makes for a great detour if you're linking up a more technical loop or just want to sneak off the main road for a bit of trail play. Short, sweet, and built to test your suspension -- Newton 33 delivers. Pack in, pack out, leave no trace, and tread lightly.

Difficulty

This trail has some very tight off-camber sections. It is not wide enough for anything more than a short-wheel base Tacoma.

Trail was great, definitely not a hard trail. Basically a 2 track with some loose baseball sized rocks. No hard hills or obstacles. One step harder than a packed gravel road, barely. Nice trail though! Just not difficult.

Trail is not a 4. A Subaru would go through without a thought. Description said you’d be flexing suspension, you’d get more flex on a curb. Soooo many of these trails rated high when they’re a 1 or 2 max.
