Lake Tugaloo (Bull Sluice Road)

Lake Tugaloo is a gravel road that descends through the scenic Chattahoochee National Forest to the shores of Lake Tugaloo on the Georgia-South Carolina border. Perfect for stock SUVs, overland rigs, and vehicles towing trailers, this roughly 3.9-mile trail offers a smooth but winding drive. The path is predominantly maintained gravel with some steep, sweeping curves as it winds down to the water, where the final 50 feet transitions to pavement. At the road's end Lake Tugaloo offers exceptional recreational opportunities, serving as the calm confluence where the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River meets the Tallulah River. While motorized boats are limited to 20 horsepower, the area is a prime destination for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing, with several primitive and paid campsites situated nearby.
