Francis Marion & Sumter National Forests Southern Adventure Route

The Bonds Road side of the Trail STILL has barriers up about 1.5miles in. Idk why people are saying the entire trail is open. It is not. The rest of the trail area is open though, but you cannot drive the entire thing from i26 going towards winnsboro.

The road was well groomed and smooth. I took a chance on it due to previous post saying it was closed. I live not far from there so I made the trip this morning and it was open all the way through

There are two sections on the trail with high water levels but was passable. The rest of the trail is mild with what appeared to be recently tended to gravel sections.

A few miles in from either direction there are road closed gates in place. I was able to tightly maneuver around them in the yj anything bigger probably won't make it by. A best as I could tell it's due to a damaged bridge I went over just fine however I did notice some damage to 1 of the 2 bridges.

Decided to check and see if the trail also had closings on the I26 side of the trail. It is indeed closed. About 2 miles in I was met with a Closed Gate and dirt mounds put up on both sides. No notice and nothing saying if it'll be open again. Expect it to be permanent as it's been well over a month since they closed the area. Other parts of the trail are open.

Trail closed going towards underpass from Cromer/Jalapa Rd side. No identifiers as to why it closed or when it will open again.

Really dry out with very mild mud spots due to recent rain. Camped out and enjoyed the uninterrupted night sky. Pick up your trash people!

Just rode the northern half.

Trail is well maintained for the most part. The beginning and end of it can get a little rockin back and forth. Beautiful tree cover with some old swamp conditions off to the sides with creeks throughout. Can be done by a car, but would suggest at least one with some decent clearance. Please pick up trash if you come through. We picked up a decent amount of beer cans, but there's hundreds more.

Leave it better than you find it. Picked up a lot of cans.
