Trail Overview

The trail starts off in Poyntelle as Township-727 and in Winterdale as T-743. This section of the O and W Trail is a recognized Township route open to street-licensed 4x4s. The trail follows the former route of the Ohio and Western Railroad. Multiple former stations can be observed along the route. Be mindful of ATV traffic. The trail becomes a groomed snowmobile trail in winter, so be respectful. Please respect private property and do not leave the Township-owned route. The side trails are only for snowmobiles in winter.

No downed trees. A couple really soft spots on the trail.

Most of the trail is easy, there are a few spots that warrant the rating. Good and rocky with ruts

Mostly clear, downed trees, very few mud holes or standing water. Big Hill was dry and loose.

Clear and open. Few deep washouts in spots but, they are flagged and passable.

Wet, lots of soupy mud, careful on that first steep climb. Doable on a mid-size ADV bike.

Nothing too challenging if you don’t want it. Probably more of a 2 rating but you can push it to a 3 difficulty. Good place to challenge a crossover. I would recommend heading northward. If you do, after the town of Starlight you may as well just get back on road because it’s packed down dirt and no challenges after that

Very easy trail. Most of the trail is just a dirt road with few small obstacles but nothing a 2WD vehicle can’t handle. I honestly would be comfortable driving in a sedan. I have it a 2/10 because one part of the trail is a little rocky but again, nothing that requires a lift or oversized tires. Stay safe everyone! See you on the trails.

Someone fixed the impassable mess near Steep Hill, otherwise a few small washes and muddy areas.
