Trail Overview
Rock Den - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located at the Northern End of the park, Rock Den should be able to be traversed by anyone on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS with skill. At approximately 1.5 miles in length, it was built as part of the second phase of the park. One end of Rock Den intersects with Rogue’s Harbor Road at the low point of elevation, and the other end also intersects with Rogue’s Harbor Road at a higher point of elevation. Rock Den zig zags its way along the hillside with frequent changes in elevation, with one extremely steep portion. Rock Den is named appropriately, as you will encounter various loose and embedded rocks along its entirety. There are sections with deep ruts, a few locations of mud, and tight turns. Over the course of the trail, there are a number of points of elevation change. There is a short section of a few hundred feet that is shared with the Black Diamond trail. At one location, there is an alternate route to avoid a few of the steeper changes in elevation if one chooses. This trail is open to motorcycles, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in August 2025.
Difficulty
This is an uneven, rutted dirt trail with loose rocks and washes, mud holes, and tight, steep grades. The trail is one vehicle wide with limited places to pass.
