Trail Overview
Lower Terrace Road - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located on the Northern End of the park, Lower Terrace Road should be able to be traversed by anyone on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS. It is approximately 1.3 miles in length. One end starts at Rouges Harbor Road and the other end at Terrace View Road. There are multiple opportunities for trail combinations with intersections of other trails, such as Raptor Path, Upper Briar Path, which both begins and ends on Lower Terrace, Opossum Run, Grizzly Path, Holtz Hill Road, and Hawk Lane. Lower Terrace is a fairly flat and wide trail with minimal mud and mostly embedded rocks, though be aware of some loose rocks throughout the trail. From the prior strip coal mining days, there is the foundation of the former “Mechanic Shanty” along this trail, with a few picnic tables to hang out and have a snack. Lower Terrace is both in the woods and open areas and offers a few limited views. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in August 2025.
